Apple fans would be happy to know that Walmart has already announced a price cut on Thursday for the latest smartphones launched by Apple – iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

Walmart, the number one cell-phone retail merchant within the United States, will be selling the iPhone 5S for $189 and the iPhone 5C for $79. This is a discount of $20 on the regular retail price for the iPhone 5C, and a $10 discount on the retail value of the iPhone 5S. This is a reasonably steep discount, considering that Apple products are seldom found below their suggested retail price.

Buyers can stop by at their local Walmart store to preorder the iPhone 5C and then pick up their devices starting September 20. According to Walmart, preorders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The iPhone 5S is presently not available for pre-order. This discount will be available in-store beginning on September 20th once the smartphone is officially available. Walmart also will assist you to pick a carrier of your choice – AT&T, Sprint or Verizon Wireless and a corresponding plan with a two-year contract.

Those looking for an older iPhone model will also find suitable discounts being offered by Walmart. The 16GB iPhone 5 model will now be offered at $79 along with a two-year contract. However, considering that Apple has officially discontinued the iPhone 5, it will only be available till stocks last. The 8 & 16GB iPhone 4S model has now been priced at 97c only.
