Today we compare the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with the new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in a one on one battle of specs. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 finally seems to have a worthy opponent – the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
The Galaxy Note 3 is much bigger than the Galaxy Note 2 and also has a good hardware configuration. But will all this be enough for the Galaxy Note 3 to compete against the Galaxy Note 2 and defeat it? Let us find out as we compare the specs of these two smartphones.

DISPLAY
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 267 pixels per inch. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to have a 5.99-inch HD plastic OLED display wit ha resolution of screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of about 440 ppi.

HARDWARE
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has the Exynos 4 chipset. It has a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor supported by the Samsung favorite Mali-400 GPU and a 2 GB RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will have the Exynos 5 chipset. The device will have two quad-core processors, a 1.6 GHz quad-core Cortex A15 processor and a 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor. It will also have 2 GB of RAM and a PowerVR GPU.

OPERATING SYSTEM
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean installed on it. It also features the TouchWiz UI from Samsung which enhances the overall user experience. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will run on the latest version of Android operating system – Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy Note 3 will also have the latest version of TouchWiz UI as a part of the system.

STORAGE
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 provides in-built storage options of 16, 32 and 64 GB and also provide a micro SD card slot which supports cards of up to 64 GB. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will have in-built storage options of 16, 32 and 64 GB. The device will also have a micro SD card support of up to 64 GB.

CAMERA
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has an 8 MP Primary Camera with autofocus and LED flash. It also has a 1.9 MP Secondary Camera. The primary camera allows you to simultaneously record HD videos and images. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will have a 13 MP Primary Camera with autofocus and LED flash and a 2 MP Secondary Camera.

BATTERY
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a 3100 mAh battery. This battery gives a talk time of up to 35 hours of 2G and 16 hours on 3G. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to have a high capacity 3500 mAh battery. We do not have the official statistics about talk time and standby time, but we expect them to be really good since there will be a lot of hardware and software support in the Galaxy Note 3 to conserve battery.

DIMENSIONS
The dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 are 80.5 x 151.1 x 9.4 mm The dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are not available as of now.

WEIGHT
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 weighs about 178 grams. The weight of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is not available as of now.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was a very good smart device, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will follow these footsteps. For consumers who have already used the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be a treat and for those who have going to use the Note series for the first time should be ready for a surprise.
The Galaxy Note 3 proves to be bigger and better than the Note 2. It has a bigger screen, bigger battery, better hardware and better camera. So when it comes to specs, the Galaxy Note 3 definitely wins the battle over the Galaxy Note 2.
